 30. Blue Valentine, ★★★★★
This movie seriously reminds me of my parents. I know deep down that they’re heading towards the same path as Dean and Cindy. Watching this was so heartbreaking watching this because my parents honestly get into the exact same arguments. All of the things they said towards each other, when Cindy told Dean she was “up to here with everything” and that she hated him…its all too familiar.
Blue Valentine is so fucking realistic that it scares me to even be in a relationship. I don’t know what I’ll do if I ever found myself in a position such as Dean and Cindy’s…such as my parents. I knew the ending that Dean and Cindy were going to have because my parents are literally following in the same footsteps as them. I feel like the little daughter in the movie, except I’m aware of what’s going on. And to be completely honest, I’m waiting for the day that my mother sits me down and tells me she and my father are getting a divorce. I’m waiting just like I waited for Dean and Cindy to call it quits.
This is such a raw and emotional film, and minus the the excessive crying I’m experiencing right now, I’m just sitting here thinking where in the fuck is Michelle and Ryan’s oscars because this is some of the best acting I’ve ever seen in my life.
